Air War

Battle of Britain: In attacks on convoys during July, 18 small steamers and 4 destroyers are sunk. Aircraft losses in July: German, 139; British, 52.

Sea War

Merchant shipping losses in July 1940: 130 Allied ships with 365,074 tons in the Atlantic, 4 Allied ships with 21,839 tons elsewhere.
4 Axis ships with 21,839 tons in Mediterranean.
2 U-boats sunk in the Atlantic, Arctic or Baltic. 28 serviceable U-boats in the Atlantic.
