Indian tanks enter Mandalay.

Western Front

British 2nd Army captures Xanten: Allied armies now stand along the Rhine from Nijmegen to Koblenz.

Air War

Britain: V-2 kills 110 and seriously injures 123 at Farringdon Market, London.

Sea War

Granville Harbor (Normandy) raided by German assault troops from Channel Islands who sink 4 coasters and free 67 prisoners (night March 8-9).
