aircraft carrier Vikrant
The ‘Colossus’ class were ordered as a batch of 16 vessels, but the last 6 were modified to operate heavier aircraft. With the end of the war, building was halted until a decision of their future could be made. Five were completed later and sold to foreign navies. ‘Hercules’ was completed in 1961 as ‘Vikrant’ for India.
