Red commander V I Chapaev
The Red commander V I Chapaev won three St George Crosses during World War I. Now he is commanding the famous 25th Rifle Division against the Whites on the Volga and Ural Fronts.
World War One Diary for Tuesday, April 15, 1919:

Siberia: Around this date White military control extended to railways and towns, but official in command of Urals industry resigns because lack of support from Omsk.
South Russia: Around this date Red South Front offensives vs Donbas and from Tsaritsyn. Trotsky claims ‘the collapse of the Kolchakites will lead at once inexorably to the complete collapse of Denikin’s volunteers (volunteers under the lash)’.
