Eastern Europe: B-17 Fortress and B-24 Liberator bombers attack Belgrade and Sofia.

Sea War

Channel and North Sea: 7,000 mines laid by RN and RAF Bomber Command in approaches to English Channel and as far north as Danish coast to prevent German interference with ‘D-Day’ invasion fleet (April 17-June 5); c. 100 light warships and other craft sink.
