Holland­: International Women’s Peace Congress opens in Hague (1,136 delegates from 12 countries). British Admiralty suspen­sion of ferries (22 April-1 May) stops 25 from Britain.

India: First action at Hafiz Kor (Northwest Frontier) against Mohmands.

African Fronts

Southwest Africa: South African ‘South Force’ occupies Seeheim rail junction; Germans evacuate Keetman­shoop next day.

Sea War

Mediterranean: Italian Naval C-in-C receives Adriatic war plan.

Air War

Gallipoli: RNAS aircraft bomb (6 x 100lb (ca. 45 kg) bombs) and destroy hangar at Chanak with German aircraft inside.
