Europe: RAF night raid on Berlin; State Opera House gutted by fire. (Hitler furious ! )

Balkans

Germans enter Salonika.

Politics

Yugoslav Government issues protest ‘to all civilized nations’ against indiscriminate German bombing of Belgrade. This ‘open and undefended city was bombed without a declaration of war . . . Never . . . were such cruelties committed, even by the most primitive invaders’.
