The Japanese seaplane Yokosuka E 14Y1 which was used for the first bombing attack on the USA.
WW2 War Diary for Friday, August 28, 1942:

Sea War

Pacific: Seaplane, launched from Japanese submarine I-25, drops incendiaries over Oregon forest (night August 28-29; repeated September 9-10).

Air War

Britain: Single bomb dropped by high-altitude Ju 86P kills 48 and injures 26 in centre of Bristol.
Germany: 222 RAF bombers attacking Kassel and dropping 513t of bombs. RAF night raids on Nuremberg (38 bombers, 85t bombs) and Saarbruecken (30 aircraft lost).
