Western Front: No 24 Squadron encounters first time 3 Albatros DI Destroyer-Scouts (Jasta 1).
Macedonia: Allied air raid on Buk bridges northeast of Drama.

Western Front

France: Colonel Estienne promoted Brigade-General and commander of French Assault Artillery (tanks).

Southern Fronts

Albania: Italians occupy Tepeleni.

African Fronts

East Africa: Lettow retreats over river Ruvu. British 1st Division pursues across (August 31 – September 1).

Neutrals

Greece: ­Venizelists seize Salonika barracks and proclaim provisional republic.
