Auk on the Alexandria road
The Auk on the Alexandria road during ‘First Battle of El Alamein’. Whether it was right to Churchill to remove Auchinleck after his victory in this battle is another matter. The main problem was that Auchinleck was not good at selling himself and he refused to counter-attack until mid-September. Unfortunatly, modesty is not often a highly regarded political trait.
