Home Fronts

Britain: Haig and his 5 army commanders return to London. Sir E Geddes made Coordinator for Army demobili­zation. Military gratuities scale issued (Navy’s on December 24).
Czechoslovakia: 8 hour day, 48 hour week introduced.

Western Front

Holland – The ‘Limburg Passage’: Dutch Foreign Minister Van Karnebeek reports to Parliament that 70,300 German soldiers have passed through South Holland since Armistice; disarming proce­dures strictly observed; baggage searched for war material; no consultation with German authorities, only unit commanders in transit.
Britain: Haig, CoS Lieutenant-General Lawrence and five Army commanders receive official welcome home in London.
