Fairey Albacore I torpedo bomber
Fairey Albacore I torpedo bomber, which saw it’s first combat service in March 1940. Though still a biplane, it had an all-metal monocoque fuselage and heated enclosed cabin. Planned as a successor of the Fairey Swordfish, until 1943 there was only a quarter build of the numbers of the Swordfish (which stayed in production to the end of the war).
