The pilot of a Me 109E of JG 26 is leaving his planme on the airfield of Gela on Sicily, after a successful Hurricane destroying sortie over Malta.

60 German bombers and Ju 87 Stukas (7 lost) with fighter escort, raid airfields on Malta, destroying or damaging 13 Wellington bombers and 3 Hawker Hurricane fighters.
