Air War

Germany: RAF cripples German battlecruiser Gneisenau at Kiel; a complete rebuilding (with the original 38-cm guns) is planned, but never implemented because Hitler order to stop work on all capital ships in 1943.

Home Front

USA: All 3,000 Japanese-American residents of Terminal Islands in Los Angeles harbour ordered to leave within 3 days.
