B-17 on attack on Berlin
B-17 Flying Fortresses in the large-scale attack around noon on the city center of Berlin. The smoke bombs have marked the objectives.
Diary for Monday, February 26, 1945:

Air War

Germany: 8th USAAF carries out 3,000 t. raid with 1,112 bombers on Berlin; 1/2 Million incendiaries dropped. Main targets: 3 railway stations (15 bombers and 7 escorts lost). RAF Mosquitoes bomb Berlin by night, guided by fires started by Americans.

Politics

British-occupied Egypt and French-occupied Syria declare war on Germany and Japan.
