Eastern Front

East Prussia – Winter Battle of Masuria (until February 22): Hindenburg offensive in Kaiser’s presence, takes Johannisburg next day but snow hampers.
Carpathians: 22 German attacks repulsed at Kosziowa northeast of Tucholka Pass (again on February 10-11 and 20).

Western Front

Argonne: German attack at Bagatelle until next day.

Home Fronts

Britain: Foreign Office statement justifies use of neutral flag at sea after British liner Lusitania arrives at Liverpool previous day under US flag.
