Russians now in complete control of railway from Maloyaroslavets south to Kaluga. Russians recapture Kirov, southeast of Smolensk, and Dorokhovo, near Mozhaisk.

Malaya: Japanese capture Port Swettenham.

Politics

Britain: Allied Conference at St. James’s Palace, London, pledges action against ‘War Criminals’.
