World War One Diary for Saturday, January 25, 1919:

France – Peace Process: League of Nations recognized as part of Peace Treaty and eight international committees formed in second Plenary Session.
Britain: Sugar ration increased to 12oz pw. 67,000 workers begin unsuccessful Clydeside strike (until mid February) for 40-hour week; 40,000 Belfast engineers strike for 44 (instead of 54) hour week, gain 47 hours until February 9.
