Mediterranean

Italy: 5th US Army makes small breach in Gustav Line. At Anzio, US Rangers advance to Cisterna and British 3rd Division to Railway Station, north of Aprilia.

Air War

Germany: US daylight raid on Brunswick. US P-47 Thunderbolt group shoots down 36 German and Italian fighters and formation of Ju 52s for the loss of 1 fighter.
