Air War

Austria: Italian Caproni bombers bomb Innsbruck.

Eastern Front

Poland: Gallwitz storms Rozan and Pultusk fortress bridgeheads and crosses Narew (until July 25), takes Goworowo (July 27) after violent Russian counter­attacks (July 26-30).

Southern Fronts

In Julian Alps Italians advance along Luznica Ridge and repel Austrian attacks until next day.

African Fronts

Cameroons: Dobell cables War Office that dry season operations must be against Yaunde.

Sea War

Adriatic: Austrian cruisers and destroyers shell Ortona, Termoli and Tremliti Islands, repeated with aircraft on July 28 between Ancona-Pesaro railway and Fano.

Britain: Government defends blockade by referring to US blockade in American Civil War.
