Russian ram attack fighter
During Operation Barabarossa the Red Air Force has heavy losses and achieved little success. Therefore, various pilots move on to ram attacks. Sergeant Chumbarev rams on one day a reconnaissance plane Fw 189 and a bomber Do 215 and manages it back to base with damaged propeller.

Ecuador and Peru: Border War. Peru ousts Ecuadorian forces from two disputed areas and recaptures Matapalo Island (occupied by Ecuador in 1938); Peruvian aircraft and paratroops in action. US, Argentinian and Brazilian mediators arrange cease-fire, July 26.
