Heinkel He 219 night fighter
Heinkel He 219 night fighter, which made a sensational debut when one aircraft destroyed 5 Lancaster bombers during a single half-hour sortie this night. But its prime value is that it could complete on equal terms with the fast Mosquito bombers. The He 219 is the best-equipped night fighter of WW2, and it is fortunate for the Allies that RLM procrastination prevents much more from being produced.
