Air War

Germany – NUREMBURG RAID: German night fighters score their greatest victory, destroying 94 (total of 108 including write-offs and crash landings) of 710 RAF bombers (2,460t bombs dropped) which approach the city by the most direct route in single huge stream without usual complex diversionary manoeuvre. British compelled to temporarily abandon deep-penetration raids on German cities.

Sea War

Pacific: US carrier planes raid shipping in Palau Islands (March 30 and 31) – Japanese Fleet has recently departed.
