Chindit's are blowing up railway bridges
Around this date Wingate’s Chindit’s are blowing up railway bridges of the rail link between Mandalay and Indwa behind the Japanese lines in Burma. But total losses of 1/3 during this operation were too high.

North Sea: Night engagement near ‘Sunk’ Lightship between German E-boats and British MGBs (motor gun boats); 2 German boats collide (1 sunk by shellfire).
