tunnel Okinawa
This 100-ft long heavily log-reinforced Japanese tunnel has five rooms branching off it. They are serving as troop shelters during bombardments, housed command posts, aid stations, ammunition and supplies stores.

Okinawa

Chocolate Drop Hill secured by US infantry after savage fighting around maze of interconnected tunnels. Japanese counter-attack on ‘The Horseshoe’ (200 killed).
