B-29 was forced down at sea
This B-29 was forced down at sea en route to Saipan after bombing the Mitsubishi aircraft factory at Nagoya. This view of the crew in lifeboats (right), and the Superfortress slipping beneath the surface, was taken from a Catalina that rescued the survivors.
War Diary WW2 for Wednesday, December 13, 1944:

Air War

Pacific: B-29 Superfortress seriously damage Mitsubishi works at Nagoya.
Germany: RAF bombers attacking Essen and dropping 2,354 t of bombs.

Western Front

Allied forces capture Fort Jeanne d’Arc – last German stronghold at Metz. ­
