Somme: Limited French advance at La Boisselle, north of the river.
Aisne: Unsuccess­ful German attacks near Autreches, northwest of Soissons.
Lorraine: French occupy Bois-le-Pretre (Pont-a-Mousson) and advance further more on January 20.

Greece: Venizelos offers Britain military help if Allies land at Salonika (memos to his King on Bulgar relations on January 24 and Allies on January 30).

Home Fronts

Britain: Woolwich Arsenal makes good TNT (3t per week by June, 30 factories making 1,000 t per week by the end of the war).
