Germany: Flight of world’s first jet aircraft. Heinkel He 178 experimental jet aircraft displayed to senior Luftwaffe officers.

Occupied Countries

Poland: West Poland, from the ‘Corridor’, south to Silesia, incorporated in the Reich. Two new provinces (Reichsgaue) formed.
Western Ukraine (Russian-occupied Poland) incorporated in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.

Holland: ‘State of siege’ proclaimed in most areas.
