Air War

Germany: Massive 8th USAAF raids on Leuna oil plant and Bingen marshall­ing yards.
Britain: V-2 hits crowded Woolworth department store in Deptford (East London) where are 160 killed.

Italy

British 8th Army crosses river Cosina.
