Dropping of the US 82nd Airborne Division at Grave. Three days later they are reaching their objective together with the British XXX Corps; the bridge of Nijmegen. But they can’t advance further.

Europe – BATTLE OF ARNHEM. 1st Allied Airborne Army (2 US and 1 British divisions with Polish Parachute Brigade) transported by 3,800 aircraft and 500 gliders lands in Arnhem-Nijmegen area in attempt to capture 3 bridges.
