Poland

Germans break through western frontier cordon of Polish armies and cross river Vistula. Polish High Command orders general retreat behind the Vistula. Germans take Bydgoszcz at the southern end of the Corridor.
German bombers destroy town of Sulejow, south-west of Warsaw.
