Russian Front

Russians reach Turnu Severin, south of Iron Gates gorge (river Danube). Hungarian 2nd Army attacks Romanian 4th Army.

Diplomacy

USSR declares war on Bulgaria. 5 1/2 hours later (early on September 6) Bulgaria requests armistice.

Secret War

Operation Zeppelin: KG 200 plane, carrying saboteurs crashes near Moscow.
