Southern Fronts

Isonzo: General Italian attack all along line (until August 17) without appreciable gains but heavy losses.

Eastern Front

Germany; Hoffmann diary: ‘Continual friction with the Austrians and almost more with OHL’.
Russia: Third and Guard (now Special) Armies returned to Western Front command.
